Welcome to SLD!

SLD is a Delhi-based labour rights organisation, that believes in equitable development through social and economic well-being of labour, migrants, and women workers; and through cultural renewal among disenfranchised people. SLD is a national organisation that originated with a focus on the National Capital Region and works with partners in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Kerala.

SLD engages in its work through collaboration and long-term coalition-building, with a focus on the rights of workers and marginalised people. We work at the grassroots and believe in an Asian framework for engaging Internationally.

SLD collaborates with various Labour Rights and Social Justice organisations, to develop a grassroots model of solidarity based on principles of respect, reciprocity and autonomy.

Testimonials
SLD is one of the rare labour rights organisations that combines meticulous and empirical research with labour rights advocacy and mobilisation. In times when labour rights are being subverted and more and more labour is being pushed to the informal sector, SLD's work is of immense value.
